Greenhouse Tomatoes are Ready

Our greenhouse tomatoes beginning to ripen. You can pick some up at one of our Community Farmer's Markets or stop by Stony Hill Farm Market after our reopening on May 1st!

Laying Beds

Laying Beds

Raised beds are covered in plastic and are called mulch beds. They cover the soil that surrounds the crops and help keeps the weeds away from the plant. They also cover a water line used to bring water to each plant.

This implement is called a bed layer.

We use different colored plastics for different reasons:
Black- attracts sunlight and speeds plant growth
White- reflects sunlight and cools the soil
           Silver- repels damaging insects

Greenhouse Renovations

The greenhouse renovations are going strong. Dale and Brandt Davis are working hard to get these new additions up and running. The new greenhouses will add much needed space, enabling us to provide a wider variety of plants and produce to our customers!

 Weed cloth is laid down.

Then we put crushed stone on top of the weed cloth.

Greenhouse Expansion

We are currently expanding our greenhouse space to make room for more production. Each greenhouse is covered by two sheets of plastic so they are more weather resistant and longer lasting.
